About

Let me introduce myself,

I’m Annie Lin. It’s so nice to meet you!

I first fell in love with journalism when I picked up my first magazine off the newsstand at the ripe age of eight. Ten years later, I published my first solo spread in a magazine at age 18. Five years later, I graduated with a master’s degree in journalism, specializing in magazines, from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, often referred to as the top journalism school in the country.

In my life, I had the honor of working alongside award-winning journalists across the world – having lived in ten cities across six countries. My experiences and interests are multidimensional, intersecting between print and digital spheres.

At the forefront, I write about lifestyle, food & dining, fashion, travel and entertainment. On the second layer, I am a social media marketing specialist and front-end web developer fluent in HTML, CSS and Javascript. On the third layer, I am a freelance photographer and video & audio producer familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and Audition.

Previously, I worked in business & tech reporting and television production using Chyron, Avid iNEWS and GV Stratus. Most recently, I launched The ALIA, a female-focused weekly newsletter dedicated to empowering the lives of Asian women in America, and beyond.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, doing yoga, visiting museums and dog spotting in the park.

P.S. Some of my favorite publications are The New York Times (NYT Cooking, The New York Times Magazine, T Magazine), The Guardian, BBC, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Refinery29, Food & Wine, Architectural Digest, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and many more.
